CAEC Instructor - Adult Education

Term Position: August 24, 2026 - April 30, 2027 (37.5 hrs/wk)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ä¢¹½TV is seeking a CAEC instructor for the Adult Education Program at the Summerside Waterfront Campus. Duties and responsibilities will include the following:

  • Conduct pre-assessments with students to develop individualized learning plans.
  • Design and deliver classroom instruction to prepare learners for the CAEC in reading, writing, math, science, social studies, and digital literacy.
  • Develop lesson plans and learning activities that engage learners and support achievement of provincial curriculum outcomes.
  • Implement approved learning accommodations and individualized supports to meet diverse learner needs.
  • Use technology effectively to maximize student learning and support digital literacy development.
  • Use a variety of evaluation techniques to assess and report student progress to learners and funding partners.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed student records, including attendance, progress, assessment results, and reporting requirements.
  • Address student behaviour and learning challenges by collaborating with the program manager, counsellor, and relevant community agencies.
  • Maintain and adhere to ISO quality management policies and procedures.
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance curriculum delivery in alignment with provincial guidelines and evolving learner needs.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and strong teamwork practices while collaborating with colleagues to develop new curriculum and support program success.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor of Education is required. Previous experience instructing CAEC is considered a strong asset.
  • Bachelor of Arts or Science with a major, minor, or at least two courses in the CAEC subject areas (mathematics, English, social studies, and science) is required.
  • PEI Teaching Certificate is required.
  • Strong organizational, communication (written and verbal), and presentation skills.
