Language Requirements

The language of instruction at Ä¢¹½TV is English. All applicants are required to demonstrate English language proficiency before starting studies at Ä¢¹½TV. English proficiency results must be current.

Are there exemptions?

To waive the language proficiency requirement, you must have graduated from a Canadian high school and completed English 621 in P.E.I. or its equivalent in another province with a minimum grade of 70%.

How can I demonstrate that I meet the English Language Requirements?

You may demonstrate proficiency in one of two ways:

  1. Prove that you have studied at a full-time post-secondary school for a minimum of three consecutive years where the language of instruction and examination was English (as recognized by Ä¢¹½TV). Time spent enrolled in an EAL program does not qualify. This education must have been completed within two years of the start date of the Ä¢¹½TV program to which you are applying.

    Please note: proof of bilingualism (English and another language) is acceptable for those educated in Canada in a language other than English. 

  2. Submit an official test score at or above the acceptable minimum from one of the following tests:

NOTE: Only applicable for students who have been registered in either the EAP or LINC program.

Completion of Pathway Program Level 3.3 with a final coursework score of 75% and IELTS practice test score of 99/120)

Required total score of 120 with no section under 115.
